Mint Green and Black - My SS13 Shoe Wish List

Finally England had some sunshine and a little bit of warmth today (perfect for all those attending LFW). After today I could not wait for summer to begin, so here is my top 4 wish list of shoes that I want as foot-candy this summer.

Both mint green heeled sandals (or woman shoes as I like to call them) are for sale on ASOS, both retailing at £45. The patent black Mary Jane's and the patent sandals, both Dr Martens, are available on ASOS retailing at £90. Alternatively the Dr Martens will most probably be available in-store, I saw these in the Covent Garden Dr Martens shop.

I have yet to buy ASOS branded shoes so feedback on the quality would be more than welcome and appreciated. As for Dr Martens, I could not recommend them more! They are the highest quality made footwear I own and have been buying them for about 5 years now and haven't had any issues at all, which is really rare.

Pastel Princess hair

Today I received a belated birthday present off my friend from uni - an Annabelle wig!
I've been moaning for ages saying how I must start a wig collection and leave my poor hair alone, well now I can. I am so in love.

(I'd like to believe this colour hair is the start of my transformation in to a unicorn)

I'd definitely recommend Annabelle wigs, they are so soft a they are so worth the money. I'm not a huge online shopper, things never arrive as nice as they look online but these really do (maybe even better in person).

Blue Velvet Inspired by Marc by Marc Jacobs.

With winter hitting England rapidly my adoration of velvet is turning into an unhealthy obsession. Especially when it comes in stunning, rich colours like blue and maroon. Lets face it, who doesn't love velvet?

Reused black and gold

Black and gold - you cannot go wrong, especially in the form of 80s Versace and Chanel. I wish Santa was this generous.

My exhibition day out

Londons beauty on a brisk Saturday morning.

Since starting fashion journalism at university I am taking full advantage of London whenever I have a spare moment. Coming from such a small city (Lincoln) where I was constantly bored and stuck for things to do. London has saved me and brought my inner explorer out.

I am a huge lover of Tim Walker and his work, so, as you can guess I couldn't wait to see the Story Teller exhibition at Somerset House. The first free day I had I was there.

The layout of the exhibition meant there were rooms and rooms full of props and photographs and it was like a sort of maze where I was losing myself in his work.

After the Story Teller I went off to the Saatchi Gallery to see the Chanel exhibition, 'The Little Black Jacket'.

Image after image of black jackets

The rooms were dim and crowded making it hard to really embrace the exhibition, however, seeing the likes of Alice Dellal and Daphne Guinness in their little black jackets was delightful.

Overall, I loved the Tim Walker exhibition and I'd say it is definitely worth a visit. The Chanel Little Black Jacket exhibition wasn't overly impressive but it was still worth a visit even, if it's just for the free poster of Georgia May Jagger.

My day with Betty magazine.

This week, on Halloween, I was invited to assist a photoshoot for the Autumn/Winter issue of Betty magazine. I had to be up at 6:30am to be in Hackney for 9am at Mare Street Studios.

The studio was perfection - pretty 1970s decor and this room was interior my dream come true.

Scrumptious looking (but inedible) sushi from one of the shots.

The shoot was still life inspired by indie film icons like Ghost World, Pretty in Pink and 500 Days of Summer. Each shot had samples given by different PR companies, which made up outfits and were accompanied by paper-crafted objects by Hattie Newman.

We spent 7 hours approximately in the studio then we jumped on a tube back to central London to drop samples off at the PR companies. After the busy day Charlotte (the editor of Betty) took me to a press day at a hotel in Mayfair. We nipped in had a cheeky cocktail and browsed the latest season of Tatty Devine.

Black is the new black

It's quickly creeping into minus figures and fur is becoming more of an essential item. Matched with some Jeffrey Campbell boots, black sunglasses and a Chanel bag this would be my essential wishlist for winter.
